A Decade of Love and Support
Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband, Douglas Emhoff, have been together for over a decade, through thick and thin. They met on a blind date in 2013 and were married the following year.
A Match Made in Heaven
Emhoff, an entertainment lawyer, divorced in the late 2000s. Harris, then a prosecutor and future California attorney general, divorced in 1996. The two met through a mutual friend in 2013 and hit it off immediately.
"It was love at first sight," Emhoff has said. "I knew I wanted to marry her after the first date."
A Decade of Love and Support
The couple married in 2014 and have been inseparable ever since. Emhoff has been a constant source of support for Harris throughout her career, from her days as a prosecutor to her election as vice president.
Emhoff has also been a vocal advocate for his wife's causes, such as criminal justice reform and women's rights.
