The Phi Beta Kappa Society is the oldest academic honor society in the United States, founded in 1776 at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.
The Keys to Success
Phi Beta Kappa keys are made to the standards specified by the Society and are available in three different sizes. The largest size is the most popular and is typically worn around the neck on a chain or ribbon. The medium size is also worn around the neck, but it is slightly smaller than the large size. The smallest size is typically worn on a lapel or pin.
