Born in West Point, Nebraska, on April 6, 1964, Timothy James "Tim" Walz has dedicated his life to public service. The son of a homemaker and a farmer, Walz's upbringing instilled in him a strong work ethic and a commitment to his community.

Walz's journey began in the U.S. Army, where he served as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division. After leaving the military, he returned to Minnesota and became involved in politics. In 1996, he was elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives, where he served for six years.

In 2006, Walz was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Minnesota's 1st Congressional District. He quickly gained a reputation as a moderate Democrat who worked across party lines to find common ground. During his time in Congress, Walz advocated for veterans' affairs, environmental protection, and affordable healthcare.

In 2018, Walz was elected Governor of Minnesota. He became the 51st governor of the state, following in the footsteps of former Governor Mark Dayton. As governor, Walz has prioritized education, healthcare, and gun control. He has also worked to address climate change and promote economic development.
