Real Madrid claim their 15th C1 title after beating Borussia Dortmund at Wembley

Real Madrid cemented their place in history on Saturday after securing their 15th European Cup with a 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund

The match was a tight affair with both teams having chances to win. However, it was Real Madrid who took the lead through Gareth Bale in the 55th minute. The Welshman scored a superb goal from outside the box which gave Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller no chance.

Real Madrid doubled their lead in the 73rd minute through Karim Benzema. The Frenchman scored a tap-in after good work from Cristiano Ronaldo. Dortmund pushed for a goal in the closing stages but they were unable to break down a stubborn Real Madrid defense.

The victory gives Real Madrid their 15th European Cup title, which is more than any other club in history. It is also their first European Cup since 2014.

For Dortmund, it was a disappointing end to a great season. The German club had won the Bundesliga and the German Cup this season, but they were unable to add the Champions League to their trophy haul.
